A small kitchen (20-year old Georgetown student). the suffix -ette, meaning 'female,' was attacked long ago and still today is widely considered sexist." the sassy suffix appears in words such as: cigarette, drum majorette, novelette, Antoinette, Wonkette, lorgnette (a pair of opera glasses with a short handle). and yours truly, kitchenette.
